| TRANSMIT (THE STREETS) |
| Back to Lyrics & Credits Menu |
When I wrote Transmit, I didn't just want to breathe fire at the mic, but breathe life back into the heart of the hip-hop community--the streets. I'd like for every song I do to be some type of anthem, and I think this one was a success.
Omega, they
call me Kull the Conqueror
Got you shook like IRS auditors
You used to slander me, now you want me to sponsor ya?
Can't pass me waves of nausea – ain’t no one
applauding your
weak verse, weak trick – Eat dirt
When I speak, it’s concrete contact, you're gettin' hurt
I flip more than words when I’m pissed at dudes
so when I walk in, cats in glitter change their moods
Buffalo Soldier’s a classic spitter
Skills ital, call shots like Dick Vitale
So you’d better prepare for the madness
‘cause while I hold it down like a wrestler, I keep it up like Atlas
The baddest, malicious, insidious,
vicious, high-scale carnivorous, bringing the deliverance
of truth to the innocent, also to the ignorant
makin’ it significant
This is for the cats who can’t get the front row seats
I’ll make sure you hear it in the streets
Even if you hear it over lunchtable beats
Can’t hold back the motherfuckin’ hardcore treats
[It’s that emcee shit] – TRANSMIT–
How you hear it?
<Comin’ down the block, man, loud as…>
This ain’t a black-tie affair, you can still rock
your hoodie
Find me in your Virgin Megastore or Sam Goody
Only mess with chicks that wanna handle me fully
when I bully, or take it to the grille like a scully
Ain’t gotta step into the spot weapons hot
I suppress that emotion like a Vulcan to live like a Sultan
The miic’s twisted metal
to make your condition critical, Ultramagnetic levels
move for platinum status and mass wealth
Maintain a state of oneself
Maintain a state of high stealth
Maintain a state of high talent so I don’t maintain on a shelf
The interstellar B-Double-O-Mer
Boulevard Avenger, Hip-Hop Defender
Warning for all pretender
Mhorlocks blow up like a gas cylinder – again
This is for the cats who can’t get the front row seats
I’ll make sure you hear it in the streets
Even if you hear it over lunchtable beats
Can’t hold back the motherfuckin’ hardcore treats
[It’s that emcee shit] – TRANSMIT–
How you hear it?
<Comin’ down the block, man, loud as…>
I still rock for bredren in them heat spots
Still rock for sistren in the weave spots
What we’ve got moves from J-A W-I
to J-A N-Y, goes all out to return like Jedi
OJ's for people that are sleepin’ in the streets
and mothers that are weepin’ in the streets
We keep It in the streets for cats with the courage under fire
who work nine-to-fives and retire
instead of playing it lame in dangerous games,
talking ‘bout they’re playin’ for fame, remainin’ the
same
The streets maintain through rough shit
whether caused by a thug mission or politician
People gather your mental ammunition – focus your triple vision
It’s time for knuckle mixin’ with them devils triple-sixin’
while I shut down fake emcees like lockjaw
and hit you in the head the right way like Southpaws
This is for the cats who can’t get the front
row seats
I’ll make sure you hear it in the streets
Even if you hear it over lunchtable beats
Can’t hold back the motherfuckin’ hardcore treats
[It’s that emcee shit] – TRANSMIT – How you hear
it?
<Comin’ down the block, man, loud as…>
